Tim Does Fox
News Here
is a clip
from Tim's appearance on Fox News Red Eye Saturday April 19th. He only
got one line out in this segment, but it's definitely worth a watch;
Great Column on
Town Hall: Tim
got an article published on the Prestigious TownHall.com about Segway's
new vehicle:
A
collaborative effort between General Motors and Segway Inc. debuted
Tuesday April 7th in New York: the new PUMA (Personal Urban
Mobility and Accessibility vehicle). With the assistance of GM,
Segway did something everyone thought was absolutely impossible: They
made the Segway even DORKIER.
Ever since they debuted to great fanfare in 2001, Segways never
captured the hearts of Americans like they were supposed to. Originally
projected to sell forty thousand units the first year, it is now
speculated that Segway probably hasn't sold 30 thousand units to date.
So why didn't they catch on?
I'm guessing just because they look so dang stupid. A Segway passenger
looks like Urkel riding a lawnmower. When I see one go by, it reminds
me of the single wheel that was driven by caveman Thor in the
Johnny Hart comic strip BC.
They haven't sold despite being purchased by several urban police
forces, which use the devices as a way of humiliating the bad bicycle
cops.
"Chicago
comedian Tim Slagle has long been labeled a political pundit, known to
target everything from taxes to warning labels to vegetarian frozen
meals. His well of material seems bottomless; at a time when some fear
the transition from a Bush administration to an Obama administration
could result in fewer jokes, Slagle is confident it
e business as usual"
...and the City
Pages "A" List: "I don't
think the country has ever been more polarized than it is today," he
says. "A lot of club owners are very hesitant to book political acts
because they're going to send away half the audience angry." He does
miss the subject, though. "It still is where my heart is. I think
satire is one of the higher forms of comedy, right up there with irony."
You can read Slagle's perspectives on Hollywood and Popular culture on
Andrew Breitbart's New Blog: Big Hollywood.
Tim Slagle offers his musings regularly, recently editorializing
the 2008 Best Spoken Word Grammy
"This year, the award was taken by Al
Gore for another version of “An “Inconvenient Truth”; a never-ending
documentary, which has actually outlasted the warming. For those of you
who are unaware (I was), there was an audio book version of the book
version of the film version of his PowerPoint presentation. It was read
by Beau Bridges, Blair Underwood, and Cynthia Nixon. (Apparently, it
took three actors to get through the whole thing without falling
asleep.)"
A popular feature is Tim's ongoing review of the Late Night talk shows,
to see how they're handling the transition of power.

All Good Things
Must Pass
Halloween came early this year. Unfortunately there was more trick than
treat, since the News wasn't so good. After a year of tearing up the AM
band, Jerry's Kidders is officially on hiatus. It turns out that the
Big Wigs in New York felt that having the a number one show, just
wasn't good enough, so they canceled the Jerry Agar Show.
Consequently, Jerry's Kidders were shown the door as well.
Starting Monday Morning, October 27th the 9-11 slot on 890 WLS will be
replaced by Erich "Mancow" Muller. It was a great run, and I thank all
of you who were in the audience. I also want to thank Jerry, Maura,
Dobie, and Ken; for making my year as a radio star a delightful
experience I shan't soon forget.
For those of you who are into Nostalgia, podcasts of
most 2008 shows are still available for download off the WLS bandwith,
although I fully expect them to be deleted soon.
Were you listening? It was one of
the funniest radio shows of
this political season, and if you weren't tuning in, you haven't missed
the boat yet. According
to a recent article in the New
York Times, there is nothing funny about Barack
Obama.
Apparently all the late night, and comedy news show hosts are lax to
make jokes about the Democrat nominee for President. Well that didn't
sit too well with Tim Slagle. So he
and three other
comics spent an hour trading Barack Obama jokes, on WLS 890 AM. It was
a great success. Reviews have been great, and I think it
contained some of the funniest Obama jokes to date. Did
you miss it? It's not too late, Thanks to the miracle of the
Internet, you can now download FREE podcasts of the show Just

Europa is flying out the doors at Amazon,
rolling off the Internet on iTunes, and tearing op the airwaves on XM
and Sirius satellite radio networks. The reviews have been spectacular.
Gearhead Magazine writes:
"Right wing? Just right! ...a lot of
his
shtick has made it into my daily vocabulary"
Five
stars on Amazon!
Punchline
Magazine writes: "The bottom line is that Europa is partly
educational,
primarily humorous and undoubtedly brave—
like most good comedy should
be."
Serious
Comedy writes: "Tim Slagle is a deep-voiced observational
stand-up
comic whose social commentary is dead on and very original. ...This is
witty, smart stuff that will please fans of intelligent comedy."

is
Tim Slagle's first CD, and

"Usually you don't see a Republican Stand-up

"I heard your bit on Europe while
listening to

over because I couldn't see through the tears of laughter.
... I wish more people could see that the grass is greenest right
here in the USA. ...When are you touring Dallas (better yet Ft.
Worth)? I'll round up 15-20 of my right wing-nut friend and check
out your show. "
"Tim Slagle made our function a
rousing
success. His conservative
comedy was not only cutting edge, it was down-right hilarious. "
"When I heard there would be a
Libertarian Comedian at the event,
I thought it was like an apology. You know, like we couldn't get a real
comedian, so at least we got one that was a Libertarian. After seeing
the show, I was delighted to learn, that Tim Slagle is a Libertarian,
and a great Comedian.
"I used to consider myself a Centrist, but
after seeing the comedian
Tim Slagle spout his viewpoints on todays political scene, I find
myself moving more and more to the right wing."
"Today most political comedy seems just an
endless tirade of Bushisms,
it was refreshing for once to see Republican Comedy."
"I've see Tim Slagle a number of times
and as a
libertarian I'm casting
my vote his way as our next Secretary of Defense. It's rare to see a
politically savvy comedian with the ability to communicate Republican,
Conservative views with such an entertaining and provocative style"
"We are in an age when many comics
profess to
be Libertarian, Tim
Slagle is the ORIGINAL Libertarian comic"
"The Highlight of the Gun Rally was Right Wing
comedian Tim Slagle."
"Champion of Free Speech, Libertarian stand-up
comic Tim Slagle had
them rolling in the aisles."
"At the forefront of the Conservative Comedy
Movement is Tim Slagle, a
twenty-five year veteran of the circuit."
"I was shocked. I thought every comic was
somewhere to the Left of
Chairman Mao. But Tim Slagle is a Right Wing comic"
"Tim Slagle's Reflections in Liberty Magazine define Right Wing
Political Satire."
