It’s a new summer tradition. Young children getting their first taste of entrepreneurship in America, having their lemonade stands shut down, for inadequate licensing. While many are outraged about it, I think its a good idea. We already lie to them about Santa Claus, Easter Bunny and the tooth fairy; maybe we shouldn’t lie to them about the realities of doing business in America. By the same token, I think Mom should keep track of the capital investment she made buying the Country TimeĀ® and leasing the pitchers, and take her cut (plus interest) from the gross.

Lemonade stand condemnations are so common today that few ever make the news anymore. Unless of course, the kid being busted, belongs to Jerry Seinfeld. From People:

Jessica, 43, posted an Instagram last week of her son Julian, 12, and comedian husband posing with their hands behind their heads in front of their sale, which donated profits to her Baby Buggy nonprofit.

And as long as People is confusingĀ  Jerry’s TV life with his real life: A Lemonade Stand in the Hamptons doesn’t really sound like something Jerry’s son would do. Perhaps he should have Kramer submit to a DNA test.
