Paul Ryan’s move into the Speakers Chair is revealing more hypocrisy of Government Officials.

So the big news this week is that Paul Ryan is having a devil of a time getting the stench of cigarette smoke out of the office, now that John Boehner has left:

Wisconsin Republican Paul Ryan can add one more burning issue to his agenda as the new speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives: how to get rid of the stench of cigarette smoke.

Ryan said on Sunday he has been trying to come up with ways to remove the smell of cigarettes from the House speaker’s office that he took over on Thursday after he replaced the retiring John Boehner, a heavy smoker. (full story)

Wait a minute… John Boehner got to smoke in his office? Isn’t that a Federal Building? And a workplace? What century are we living in?

I would bet money that he probably also had a drink cart in there, stocked with bourbon, and would often call on his secretary to fill up the ice bucket. It seems that the Halls of Congress are the only places left in America where a Mad Men ethos is still practiced.

As George Orwell once said, “some animals are more equal than others”.
