I can’t believe it’s Crash and Burn week again already.

For those of you who don’t know, it’s a concept I came up with five years ago where four headliners would work together for a week coming up with a brand new show.

It’s somewhat reminiscent of the TV variety shows of yesteryear, where the writers would dig in Monday morning, and try to have a live show on the air by Sunday Night.

Tuesday (April 19th) we start. Each comic brings to the club a notebook full of ideas and rambles on stage for twenty minutes. We all take notes, and share them after the show. FourShotThe majority of the next day is spent writing and making media appearances, and we get together in the afternoon to see what progress we’ve made. At 8:00 it’s showtime, and we start all over again. Rinse, Repeat.

By Saturday night, we all hope our new show is polished enough for a general audience, since most of the people in the club on Saturdays are there for Birthday and Bachelorette Parties, and have no idea that they’re about to see a show that has never been done before.

The past four have been fantastic experiences. Not only have I written some pretty funny material, I’ve made some good solid friends in the industry. There is a sort of a Crash and Burn alumni association, and we all keep in touch about the material we written on those weeks, how it worked into our acts, and whether audiences are still laughing at it. For me, it’s been incredibly valuable, my next CD will contain bits from all four previous Crash and Burn shows.

This year we have another stellar lineup. From Premium Blend, Kevin Bozeman. From Bob and Tom, David Crowe. and from Last Comic Standing, Mary Mack.

These are shows you won’t want to miss. And they start Tuesday April 19 at 8: PM.
