Some people joke about the new iPhone costing an arm and a leg. But in China it’s almost as bad. People are selling their kidneys just to get their hands on the new iPhone 6. Suddenly waiting in line for a day outside an Apple® Store™ seem like a picnic.
Now, I totally understand the idea of selling a kidney. But if you’re going to sell one, at least get something that isn’t going to be obsolete in a couple years.
One of the two men, named Wu, was looking to buy the brand new handset, but didn’t have the money. A friend, Huang, suggested that the two of them sell a kidney to raise funds — a common practice in a country where organ donation is low and has led to a flourishing market. (full story)
