We’ve been told for years that the debate its over, now the debate is about to be outlawed. A group of scientists has petitioned the Obama Administration to take legal action against climate skeptics.

Scientists from several universities and research centers even asked Obama to use the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) to prosecute groups that “have knowingly deceived the American people about the risks of climate change, as a means to forestall America’s response to climate change.” (full story)

While I wouldn’t expect a case like this to get very far into the court system, if I’ve learned anything from History, it’s to expect the unexpected.
